Born and raised in Winnipeg, Stu learnt to play drums at Kolt Music Studio's at age of ten. He played the Rock n' Roll days of the Sixties but was raised on Country music and always felt that he had more in himself than the beat. Getting tired of carrying all those drums from gig to gig, Stu picked the guitar as his next instrument. He made his first guitar out of a piece of wood and cardboard and although it was not real it was the beginning. Stu has written and recorded his first CD, Roads Traveled, and is in the studio recording his second CD, Under My Hood, which is due out Spring 2008. For more information and to purchase copies of Roads Traveled contact Stu Porteus at porte@shaw.ca
Pepper Laing and the Lonestar Killers announced that they will be touring Belgium and the Netherlands this summer with the
Cripple Creek Cloggers from Nashville Tn. There is also a new Pepper Laing and the Lonestar Killers CD in the works that is slated for release June 2008.
