President/Sponsorship Commitee Chair/Awards Committee - Miles Trach
Miles has been a member of the board of directors for the Manitoba Country Music Association (MCMA) since 2009, served as the Vice-President from 2011 to 2020, did his first term as President from 2020 to 2023, and has just been re-elected as President for the MCMA for his 2nd 3 year term.
Listening to family and friends playing music as a young boy in his hometown of Canora, SK planted a seed of love for music that has been a huge part of his life since those early formative years.
Miles began playing in country bands in Winnipeg in the early 90’s. He is a skilled musician and singer who helped form the Hard Miles Band in 2009 and has been the main lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the band. He has also had the privilege of singing and playing in several other bands including Wired Cowboys, The Call of The Wild, Fender Bender, and Rodeo Active. Miles was runner up in the Bud Country Vocalist Competition in 1996.
Miles has been a strong supporter of the Manitoba Country Music Community, and a huge fan of all types of country music from the old 1930’s cowboy music right up to the current contemporary country.

Vice President/Program Review Manager - Christopher Nakonechny Chris Nakonechny from Brandon has been a part of Manitoba Country Music as a musician for over 20 years. He has played for several recording artists both in Manitoba and other provinces at many levels as a piano and keyboard player. He is an experienced musician who has performed on festival stages all across Canada. Chris as been on the MCMA Board of Directors since 2017.

Past President - Kerry Kingsland
Kerry Kingsland is a talented Canadian singer songwriter with a diverse musical background. With a resume that includes classical vocal training, performing in musical theater, jazz vocal groups and country rock bands. After turning his attention to contemporary country music he won a popular Canadian Star Search singing competition that kick started his country career. Kerry’s success saw him release a self titled CD from which 4 songs charted in Canada and received worldwide radio airplay. Kerry has opened shows for many of the top Canadian country acts Kerry has also toured live and played some of Canada’s biggest festivals including Dauphin's CountryFest. With an emphasis on songwriting Kerry is currently writing with some of Canada’s top songwriters.

Director/Social Media Director - Sean Borton As the lead guitarist for the Foster Martin Band Sean has been a staple on the Manitoba Country Music scene for many years. Sean has been nominated for and won several MACA/MCMA awards over the course of his career.

Director - Desiree Dorion Desiree Dorion has been a staple in the Manitoba country music scene for over a decade. She has toured coast to coast in Canada and as far south as the Gulf of Mexico. In September, 2022, Dorion had the privilege of performing at Americanafest in Nashville, TN. The JUNO nominee is a proud member of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation. In June, 2021, she hosted the Achimotak series with the Canadian Country Music Association and is an artist ambassador with the Downie Wenjack Foundation.

Director - Susan Hnatishin
Susan brings a wealth of experience to the MCMA as a past co-owner/operator of a small business and a Librarian/Substitute Teacher. She also taught an elementary school music program for over a decade, as well as taught guitar and bass for United Conservatory of Music and at Tauber Music School. Susan presently teaches guitar and various other instruments at home. Country music has always been a staple in Susan's life, playing bass and vocals in a family country music/polka band.

Director/Site Admin/Awards Committee - Chris Ising
Songwriter, recording artist and music producer, Chris Ising has been on the Manitoba country scene for more than a decade. His music has charted on indie stations across Canda, the US and Europe, and won him a single of the year from the Texas Country Music Association for a #1 single in Texas with US artist Darrin Morris. In addition to being a solo country music artist, Chris is one third of a Canada/USA based production group, producing music of all genres for TV and film, with credits from network television, indie film and social media based commercial spots.
